I wrote a short article back in May Can Gel Nails help the look of your nail shape and wanted to tell you a little trick that may help you get the pretty arch that you see on a lot of nails.
Some people are lucky enough to have the arch without gel and some of us just need a little help.
So if you are using gel to try and get that arch in the center of your nail and it still looks
flat to you it is probably because most of the gels are self leveling and it is flowing down to the sides of your nails before you get them cured. Which will give you the same shape as your original nail.
Here is a little trick that may help you get the look of a pretty arched nail.
- Apply a very thin layer of gel over the whole nail and cure it.
- Then apply another layer of gel a little bit thicker only in the center area of the nail avoiding the cuticle, free edge and sides (see diagram below) turn your hand upside down (palm facing up)for a few seconds to let the gel run to the center of the nail and create an arch turn your hand up and quickly cure it in the lamp.
- Then apply one more coat of gel to the whole nail and you should have a pretty arch to your nail.
