Hi, I guess you are here to find out who is that nail tech anyway and what is she all about, if so read on.
I was a Nail Technician/Salon Owner for 20+ years. And yes I have polished a couple of nails in my time. ;-)
I started this blog for you to have a place to come and ask all your nail care questions, share a few jokes, nail care news and whatever else may come about. I love to make people smile!
Other things I enjoy are the computer, digital drawing, designing websites and doing research.
I also love sewing, gardening, building and fixing things, I love a good challenge and some of which are not recommended if you want to keep your nail polish and your manicure looking good. :-)
Through the years I have done just about all the types of nails available and would love to answer any questions you may have about things like how to shape your nails, what color of polish may be best for you, best nail polish for a job interview, nails for your wedding day, why your French Manicure may not look right, Natural Nail Manicures, Pedicures at home, Acrylic Nails and other nail related questions you may have.
I have worked with a lot of different brands IBD Gel Nails, CND Shellac Nails, Opi Gel Polish, Gelish Soak off Gel Polish and many more and always love trying new things as they come on the market and would love to share with you what I have learned.
I was raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and now live in N.C. ( Yes I am a country girl ;0) it's like they say you can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl.)
I have a wonderful husband and one (furry) child.
Remember your Nails are Jewels not tools! (I know I should practice what I preach!)
I could go on and on but I will stop here because this site is for you not me. :-)
So if you are still with me here, head back over to the home page and send me all your nail questions by clicking on the comments links from the bottom of any post or the eMail link from the bottom of every page! ;-)

Hi,
I was trying to remove my glitter nails by holding a cotton bud filled with nail polish remover and scrubbed the glitter nail polish. It took many times. But after removing a hand of glitter nails, my three fingers on my right hand are now very dry and feels quite plastic-y (very hard to describe). THey also seem a bit bigger than the ones on my left hand. I tried putting lotion but does not seem to work. Also it seems like my fingerprints have changed because my iphone does not seem to work by the fingerprint match anymore.
Is there anyway to resolve this situation and make my fingers back to normal again or is this permanent?
Please let me know. Thanks.
Hi Michelle,
It's hard to say without seeing your nails and a little more info. But it sounds like you may be having a reaction to the remover or the polish.
Glitter Polish is harder to remove so you are getting more exposure to the chemicals along with some extra rubbing of the skin that may go away.
However if you are still experiencing the symptoms and your finger tips are still swollen you may be having some sort of reaction that should be checked by your doctor.
Hope this helps! Kathy
