Why would I paint a button with nail polish?????
Most everyone here obviously knows I'm a Nail Tech, but some of you may not know I'm also a seamstress.
I've done a lot of custom sewing for clients through the years as well as interior designers in our area.
I love making things almost as much as I love nails. Notice I said almost. ;0)
I love custom made pillows and have been in the process of making new pillows for my sofa. (For way to long!) ;0)
I already had the fabric and decided I want my pillows to have some Great Big Buttons on them.
So yesterday I was on a mission and decided to get off my arse and get this job finished.
I headed out to find Buttons for my new pillows.
Remember I like The Big Buttons which are not easy to find, especially when you are trying to match colors.
With no luck on finding buttons like I had in mind. I decided to just make my own.
I decided on making painted wooden buttons. Sounds pretty simple right? Well it would be except for the fact that I couldn't find any paint the color of my sofa. :0(
Now my sofa is a solid eggplant color and my chairs are gold with some dark purple, reds and a little bit of navy.
So guess what I found to paint my buttons the color of my sofa.........Did you guess nail polish?
Yep! Leave it to the nail tech. I didn't even have to mix paint to get the color I needed for my buttons.
