Bad and Dirty Nail Salons

Yes, here I go again! I'm rambling!

With all the news talking about the abused salon workers and unsanitary nail salons. which I also wrote about here. I'm getting a little concerned!

I have been seeing more and more articles that are recommending people start doing their own nails at home.

Oh my! What will that do to the nail industry!
I know that a lot of you already do your nails at home. I also know that a lot of you still love to visit the salon.

It really bothers me that the nail industry has had such a bad
wrap and it's mainly because of the unfair, cut rate, dirty salons.

When I first began in this industry many years ago.
I started out doing hair, then I fell in love with nails. It was such a wonderful industry at that time and everyone was pretty much on the same page.
But boy let me tell you, things have changed and it's to a point that it makes it really hard for the decent nail technicians that are trying to do things right.

I don't know how or what will happen to the industry.
I do know a good clean up is way over due!

It is my hope that somehow they can weed out the bad businesses and get back on track to provide safe nail services to all of you that enjoy it.

I know there are still many nail technicians out there doing things the right way and we must find and support them.

Nail technicians as well as salon owners have a pretty expensive overhead even before they purchase supplies and that is why a good nail tech doesn't come cheap.
However your nail tech is worth paying a little extra if she/he is doing things the right way by sanitizing and using good products and in a clean salon.

The services will not be dirt cheap like the ones you see all the reports about. You know the old saying we get what we pay for.

With that said you should still be able to find a good nail technician at a reasonable price and it is my hope that people will still support the nail industry.

To tell people to start doing their own nails at home could have a huge impact on the nail industry as a whole. When all you really need to do is find a good nail tech in a clean salon.

Here is a list of things to help you: Finding a Clean Salon.

What are your thoughts?

Will you still support the nail industry?
