A Sanitizer Jar for Home

Did you know you could have a sanitizer jar for your nail tools at home?
It is always a good idea to keep your tools clean even if you are the only one using them, because some of the tools you are using are for removing debris from underneath the nails (hands and feet) Yuck you say!
That's right and you really should keep your tools clean, even if you are the only one using them and if you haven't read my previous article on Don't Share That  File With Yourself and why you can see it here:

Most Sally Beauty Supply carry the jars and they are called Barbicide Jars and usually hiding on a bottom shelf ;-) in a white box. The jars have a tray attached to the handle so you can pull your tools out without getting your hands in the solution.

Here is a link for you to see them they are sort of like the jars you see in the salon. see sanitizer jar here:  and  barbicide solution here:

Just make sure the jar you choose is tall enough for your longest nail tool to fit in and don't forget to pick up a small bottle of barbicide to use with it.

Note: If your nail clippers, cuticle nippers, etc. are not stainless make sure you don't leave them in the solution any longer than they recommend because they will rust and also you should not put your abrasive in the solution (buffer and emery boards etc.).

Make sure you follow the directions and keep away from children and pets.

The barbicide jars are around $20.00 bucks (a one time buy) and the small bottle of the barbicide is around $6.00 (will last you a long time) It is a very small price to pay to keep your things all nice and clean :-)

How do you clean your manicure and pedicure tools?

Hi Lisa, You ask what would be the best nail nippers and where to purchase them. I personally like stainless nippers because they will last for many years and they don’t rust. I would look for them at a beauty supply company like Sally Beauty or Ulta. I also like the brand Tweezerman with the double spring.
Hope this helps! 
