I was ask this question often. Should I put tips on my nails to make them longer and my answer was always if you don't have a special event that you need the nails to be longer for a couple of weeks and you have a little bit of free edge (the white part of your nail) then I always would recommend that a client not have the tips and just have a Gel Overlay. One reason for this is once you have the Gel on your nails you will be amazed at how much quicker your nails seem to grow. (They are not growing any faster ;-) ) it just looks that way because with the layer of gel on your nails you are not wearing the nail down at the edges like you do without the gel.
The other reason I feel like you are better off to have the gel overlay verses nail tips is you don't have to go through the part of growing off the tips and the way they can sometimes look or separate from the natural nail underneath.
Just my 2 cents worth! :-) What do you think?
