In my humble opinion this is a must
have item to have with your manicure tools and can be picked up at
most any nail supply area.
The three way nail buffer is a wonderful tool that has many uses such as smoothing down a nail that has ridges, removing polish stain, smoothing a nick or help a nail that is peeling at the edge, create a shine to a natural or acrylic nail.
But only if it is used properly ;-)
A lot of people purchase the three way buffer in hopes of removing the ridges in their nails and if you do that then your nails will probably start to break :-(
Ridges in Nails: If you have ridges in your nails it is better to
slightly smooth the nail with side number two of the buffer
and then use a ridge filler to fill in the ridges.
Stained Nails: If your nails are stained you can lightly buff off most of the stain with the buffer just a few strokes with side no. one and then a couple more with the number two side and finish with the no. three side if you want a high gloss shine. However if you are going to reapply polish to your nails I recommend that you don't use the no. three side because it will cause the nail to be so smooth that your polish may not adhere as well.
Peeling Nails: If you have a nail that is peeling you can try and add a little nail glue under the edge hold it down with an orangewood stick until it drys (usually about 10 seconds) is enough and then lightly smooth around the edge of the nail with your buffer.
Create a Shine to your nails: If you are just wanting to create a
shine to your natural nails and you are not planning on wearing
polish then side no. two and three will probably be all you need.
If you have acrylic nails you can use
the buffer to create a high gloss shine to the acrylic, just be
careful and only buff on the product and avoid buffing on your
natural nail.
Just keep in mind that as gentle as this buffer may feel it can take off a lot more of your nail than you realize and less is best when you first start to experiment with it.
So if you have nails that have ridges,
polish stains, peeling at the edge, or just looking to create a
smoother shiny look to your nails. This is a must have in your
manicure toolbox.
